I plan on getting a VP6 and planned on getting a couple of 850's and overclocking them. I realize that I can't change the multiplier to do so, but I am not sure what that is for the 850. Can I get those 850's to 1100 MHz or not? If so, what should my course of action be?
 
i'm not sure about the overclockability of the 850... but i'd go for the P3-700e cpus... get the cc0 stepping ones, they easily go over a gig... mine goes over a gig too, just that i need a better cooler than the stupid Gorb i have right now... look for bonkers325 in the for sale/for trade forum... he's got some nice new P3 cpus that are guaranteed to run over a gig for around $200 each... definitely cheaper than buying a retail 850 and not knowing how high it can go... 🙂
