Hi everybody, I have to decide one of them and need your suggestions. PIII550(256 cache, coppermine, socket) works stabil at 733/133Mhz, I've used it for more than one year at 733Mhz without any problem. I could reach upto 120Mhz FSB with celeron950. But as you know Ide, pci and agp ports are forced to work high speeds at 120fsb.

In the other hand, I couldn't reach the gaming performans of PIII550(733/133) with overclocked celeron in spite of it works higher frequency. So what do you recommend? Should I exchange my PIII with the celeron?

thanks

If you are worried about reaching the 133MHz fsb speed with a higher speed Celeron, then get the 800. Put it on a 133MHz fsb and enjoy 1066MHz. If you motherboard doesn't support core voltage adjustment, just use the vid pin trick to increase the voltage from 1.70 to 1.90v. It is only about $55 shipped on pricewatch.

I tried 133Mhz fsb with celeron950 but it failed. Do you mean that it can work at 133fsb if I adjust the voltage as 1.90v? Anyway I'll try it this evening.

Thanks

I said get rid of the Pentium III for the AWESOME Celeron

No, meaning the Celeron with cDO stepping is always gonna reach 1100MHz or so, 1200 if you are lucky. 8 x 133 = 1066MHz, but 9.5 x 133 = 1263MHz, not likely.
