for the love of god i cannot get this computer to run @ 133 fsb... when i do the os doesnt even load.... but when i drop it back to 66mhz.. its fine... what gives?

it runs fine @ 66 mhz.. but the pIII multipliers are locked so 66 X 5 = 330 .. help!..

 
Try setting your BIOS to Failsafe values - you may have too aggressive RAM timings for you particular PC-133 to operate stably @ 133Mhz. Make sure also that your PCI divider is set to 1/4 @ 133Mhz.
 
If you have the ability to select a slow FSB frequency that is still close to 133, maybe that would work. For example, try running at 130MHz if your BIOS allows such a thing.
 

Hmmm - there's something about those numbers that makes me suspect something.

Check out Intel's Frequency ID utility LINK is here and run it. See what that comes up with.

Alternatively, you can always check with Intel themselves if your CPU is actually OK - phone them up & ask them to check the markings (that'll be the SL# (i.e: SL123 - total length of 5) and the so-called FPO/batch number which is an 8-digit number (i.e.: 12345678-1234) which MAY have a "dash 4 numbers" attached to it.

At least that way, you can find out for certain whether the CPU you've got is actually what it's supposed to be. There's always the
possibility of remarks around ... (hope this isn't the case).

Note: when I say "number" - there could be some letters thrown in.
