PIII 866 Good Enough for GeForce3?

I need some advice.

I just upgraded from a GeForce 1 DDR to a GeForce 3.

Is my PIII 866 enough CPU for this card or should I go with a T-Bird 1.2 or 1.4 upgrade? I have read that Sub-1GHz machines are a bottleneck for the GeForce3. Is this correct, or should I just stay with my PIII for now.

I was thinking I could get a AMD 1.2 and MB, and just upgrade to the new Athon 4s (Or whatever they are calling the desktop version) later if I need to.

Thanks!

Theoriticaly any cpu is good enough for any video card. The "maxing out" of video cards is highly subjective. If you run at 1200*1600*32 with max everything in new games a p2 400 will be as fast as any cpu you can give it. At 640*480*16 with loki type configs, no curent cpu can "max out" the cards power.

Um, reverse that to see the truth.
