PIII 733EB

I've been out of the hardware loop for ages and I want to get a fast-ish system together. PC hardware co$ts down here in New Zealand. I'll thinking about getting a PIII 733 EB. Can some please tell me if this is one of Socket370 kind or is it Slot1?

Are there any other pros/cons with this CPU?

The 733EB is available in both S370 and Slot1 form.

Pros

• Cheap

• 133MHz bus

Cons

• Can't overclock

• Fairly slow compare to today's standards

I would recommend getting a 700E, for around the same price. It's overclocks to 933MHz+ with ease.

If a 733 is slow for todays standards, my god I've got some upgrading to do 🙂

Well not that slow, but not fast at all with those 1.x gigers all coming at us.

I agree. If the 733 is slow what isn't? And I'm sure we can all afford the 1 GHz..... 🙁
