PIII 700 overclock

Just got a 700 @ 933 P3 from Compuwiz. This is, I believe, a cB0 stepping chip. Running on a MSI 6163Pro with a MSI6905 Master slocket. I'm waiting for 512Meg of his PC133 ram so I'm now running 128meg of PC100 Kingston Value ram. This chip is stable at 1008MHz(144MHz bus) even with the PC100 ram. Voltage at 1.8 volts. The temperature at the edge of the processor slug never exceeds 115 degrees F while running the stabilty test program. My Video card is a Matrox G400 dual head max which will tolerate high agp bus speeds. I think this thing may dance at 1050MHz when I get my new ram. This is the second time I've bought from Steve and have been totally satisfied both times.

Cool I have a P3-700 cB0 and its great. 933 very easily with my PC-133 cas2 crucial ram. What are you using for cooling?

I know the P700 is a 100MHz chip. Do you also have your processor set to 133mhz in your Bios?

Bill Kunert, have you considered a better h/sink for that chip as core temperature must be considerably higher than the 115F surface temperature?

I have the system bus at 144MHz. This sets the PCI bus at 36MHz and , I think, the AGP bus at about 87MHz.

The temperature is really quite reasonable. That's only about 44*Cel. and is about the same as my Cel 566@850 generated. The sensor is hard up against the slug so I feel it's fairly accurate.

I got the new ram from Compuwiz today but it won't boot fully into windows at 1050MHz. 1010MHz isn't bad for a chip that was only guaranteed to do 933MHz. I might get more with some fiddling but it really isn't worth the trouble. I broke a gig and that pleases me.

I got it from Compuwiz1. He is on this forum quite often and you can email him from one of his posts. I paid $185 for a 700E that is guaranteed to do 933. He sometimes has chips that test faster and cost a bit more. I bought from him 3 times and have always been totally satisfied. He has business ethics that are beyond reproach. You can buy a 700 for a bit less but you know 100% for sure that his will operate as promised.
