MILWAUKEE - Part of I-43 was shut down Wednesday night when animal parts were spilled on the northbound lanes.
It happened between Good Hope and Brown Deer Roads.
When a snow plow and front-end loader couldn't pick up the pile of slimy, gooey, gross mess, county worker Tony Minter did it the old-fashioned way - one shovel at a time.
The mess took three hours to clean up and the northbound lanes were closed on several occasions, backing up traffic. The driver who dumped the load never stopped and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department was still trying to track the driver down Wednesday night.
