Being American, I'm thinking the same thing.

Me too.

Both sides have valid arguments and I haven't, you notice, been judgemental at all over people's decisions to stick their son with a liftime of daily routine maintenance and increased health risks for X percent highened sensitivity during the .000000001% of their life they're spend actually IN intercourse. Have I?

Barbaric? Yeah, you're really one of those open-minded people going around slapping a label like that on the other side.

That women preference link is surely great. But, my stands on both are pretty much "no" because I come from a culture that doesn't believe in either...

I am an open-minded person, and I am thinking outside of the social conditioning ingrained in the majority of Americans. Like I said, that is my opinion. I am not forcing you or in any way preventing you from circumcising your son.

Didn't you wonder why nobody else bought up this comparison? Yeah, cause it's a stupid one.

masturbation? most males do it every day lol.

i have yet to hear a valid argument in favor of cricumcision. sorry but using "social norms" as an excuse for taking a knife to a childs genitals just doesn't "cut it".

Why's it a stupid one? by your own admission both remove many nerves, are painful and are done due to old customs/religions. So why do you accept one and call the other stupid?

Yes and Yes.

My wife is Latin, so it's traditional to pierce your daughters ears at a young age...like a month old. As for circumcision, I'm glad I was circumcized, so I'd pay the same favor to my kid.

Congrats. You're happy about missing half the nerves in your penis. I hope you never breed.

What does your "Latin" wife think of circumcision? Ask for it down there and they'll throw you in the looney bin. America and Israel are the only countries that mutilate our boys.

50%? How many do you need?

I would have preferred to have all of my nerves and all my skin. Its made that way for a reason.

We're born with 32 teeth too, I don't know why we barbarically have four of them removed routinely though. That's like 12.5% less chewing surface area we are MISSING. Who cares if your teeth get crowded, the more the merrier, right?

As much as I'd prefer to keep all of my teeth, if possible, the comparison isn't really valid.

Whether I have 32 teeth or 20, as long as I can chew my food, my enjoyment of eating will not be impacted. This is because the teeth aren't a sensory organ. However, if I were to loose part of my tongue and lose the ability to taste certain foods, my eating enjoyment would be greatly impaired. Compare a loss of nerves in the tongue with the loss of nerves in the penis, and then you'd be on to something.

Aside from the obvious precreative functions, why does one engage in sex anyway? Enjoyment. Enjoyment of sex has a lot to do with what you feel. Nerves feel... why would you want them removed?

Can't ever get it as clean as you could without. And, anyway, why bother? I mean, WTF, I can go hiking in the wilderness for weeks and not shower, but you're always having to stop by a stream and douche your cock.

God forbid you just have that sh!t cut off when you're 2 days old and not have to make it a consideration at least once a day for the rest of your life. I know kids who slept through the procedure.

My mum had my ears pierced when I was young -- I barely remembered it, but I know it hurt. I didn't care though. One less thing to do when I grew up.

It's part of my culture to have babies circumcised...

Culture is not a good reason to pierce or circumcise. The child's human right to bodily integrity is more important than culture.

Culture: noun; the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group. That practise was wildly accepted and it's a custom. Clearly, you have not been brought up with such customs, but I hope that you respect mine without sounding demeaning or derogatory.

I'm an American, and its customary to cut up babies here. I bucked the trend and protected my son.

All I'm saying is that you should put your children ahead of your customs. If it looks like it hurts, it does. Protect your kids.

You really think that the pain was going to make a difference in your son's life?

You really think that cutting off his foreskin will make a difference in his son's life?

It is part of the culture. So yes i guess so

You guess so? I don't know where you went to school or what you did at home, but there was never any comparison of genitals where I come from. If a boy was left intact, no one would know, nor want to know. The American "culture" BS has been perpetuated by those who do circumcisions and those who don't want to feel bad about what was done to them.

I think you'll find that anybody that goes hiking for that length of time still washes their parts, be it by flannel. Not doing so would cause hell and all problems be you snipped or not.

I'm guessing your snipped as well, so how on earth would you know you can't get it as clean without being cut. Have you ever seen a non circumsized guys penis after he washed it? have u ever looked close enough and compared it with your own???

huh more info than i needed to read, but interesting none the less.

http://www.sexasnatureintendedit.com/

weird there have been studies that show women are much more likely to orgasm during intercourse with a anatomically correct penis.

Shouldn't be surprising. Whether you believe in a god, creator, or are of a scientific mind, it would stand to reason that a man and woman's parts are designed/evolved to work together best as they exist naturally. Circumcision is not natural.
