older ram. 1st gen saturn sohc, grand am..., I would go on, but I just realized most are from the 80's, GM, and all the same transmission. so might as well call it the same car, that really swings the odds now doesnt it.

Sorry but you are wrong. The grand am and saturn I know have coolers. The ram not sure since being a truck it should have one, even the basic one in the Rad.

Still $350 is less than a new car.

I'm tired of people complaining about domestic cars and their issues. There are plenty of issues and problem models on all manufacturers. People just seem to give the imports a bit more slack when an issue comes up.

So is $5k, but that doesn't mean its a good deal. $350.00 to purchase, install, and fill a radiator is robbery.

Yea its near the upper price range but not robbery. If you think that you can do it much cheaper hang a shingle up and open shop.

I ran my own shop at one point. Being the owner my prices were lowwer since it was a basic small place. Over head for equipment and labor is not cheap.
People think that auto shops are just raking it in, while most are not, esp today with what it needed for modern cars.
Also for every job that goes as planned and you make good money you will get that same customer to bring their car in for something that kicks your ass and you hopefully break even.

I would be SERIOUS coin on the Saturn having an auto tranny cooler in the rad. I've never seen an S-series Saturn auto without one. and I was in the Saturn community for a while.

It's tranny has nothing to do with any other GM tranny and was unique to the S-series lineup.

could be, I only messed with one auto.

the 5spd on the other hand, halued some of those around.

Yep go to rockauto or any other parts site and look up the cars rad and you will see 2 openings on one side for trans lines, some are at the bottom but most one side or the other.
Its also why some Radiators spec they are or are not for manual trans cars.

Auto trans get hot, and heat kills them fast. So without even a basic cooler they would not last long.
My Chevy even has a power steering cooler.
