I have a stereo on my motorcycle with a USB port that I can plug a zip drive into loaded with music and it will play it.
The stereo also has a headphone plug that I can plug into my Iphone headphone jack and play Pandora or music from my library on my phone.

Problem: the head phone jack coming from the stereo has a bad connection and is very staticy.

Question: Will a wifi adapter plugged into the USB port on the stereo allow me to stream Pandora from my Iphone?

Thanks for answering my dumb question.

Probably not. You could just plug headphones into your phone, but I wouldn't recommend it.

It's illegal to use headphones and drive in most states.

Edit:

I just realized why your post is so confusing. Line in is not the same functionally as headphone jacks. Might want to be clear about that next time.

yeah lets forget about the line in. My stereo has a USB port that allows me to plug a zip drive in and it will recognize and play my music automatically that's on the drive thru the speakers on my bike.

will a Bluetooth adaptor or WIFI adaptor that I can plug into that USB port on stereo receive Pandora from my phone and pass it thru to my Stereo as if it was the Zip drive?

Don't think any such thing exists. The problem is that I doubt your stereo is "smart" enough to deal with wifi/bluetooth protocols. My guess is that it only knows how to see mp3 files and play them. Pretty typical of most stereos without bluetooth.

Your stereo wants 'USB storage' on it's USB input. So your phone needs a way to convert Pandora to a file on the fly so that your radio can play it. I doubt anyone has programmed an app for this very esoteric situation.

On the other hand, perhaps your line-in can be fixed. I have fixed noisy RCA line-ins in car stereos by just wrapping it aluminum foil, wrap a ground wire around the foil then ground that wire to the chassis. You can cover up the foil with a commonly available plastic looms, wrap, or shrink tubing.al

Actually I just re-read. Your noise isn't interference but probably a bad/loose connection point. It still can probably be fixed by replacing the plug.

Thanks guys, I kinda knew it was a pipe dream to think I could just plug a WiFi adapter in and sync with phone to start listening. I did find some lint jammed in my phones input jack. I am going to try it again tonight and see if I may have solved the poor connection problems with the input jack plug.

At least I know I don't have to spend the money on a WiFi adapter to try as an experiment now.
Thanks again to the both of you.
