I am conforted by the fact that I am not the only person on the planet who finds the Xb to be by far the ugliest car EVER. Thank you all for your confirmation. It feels good sometimes to run with the herd ....

rbloedow, did you really buy one of these things? Why? What wer you thinking?

It's a Toyota, Tonnes of interior space, great gas mileage, more options than anything else at it's price point, it's a great value, and it's the perfect pizza mobile :)

And it's ugly as fuck, but hey, who cares about that, right?!

It wasn't as ugly in person as on the net - besides, I was able to overlook it's quirky styling once I sat inside :)

There's a Toyota/Scion dealer down the street from me, so I have seen them in person (funny that's the only place I've seen them, must be selling real well), and they're still uglier than sin. Oh, I would never sit in that thing, too damn ugly.

What's with the pink splash on the seats in those concept pics, anyway?

You seem to cope with ugly things well.

I respect your decision to purchase this vehicle but it is a sad state of affairs when otherwise intelligent people (like you) will buy something so horribly gone wrong just becasue it's a Toyota.

I was involved in an accident in 6/2004 that totalled my truck (damn that lady in the Lexus ... but thats another story). After the driver-at-fault's insurance co. settled with me I went a truck shopping. I was replacing my beloved '95 Nissan truck so I first went to a Toyota dealership and looked at the Tacoma. I was unimpressed but what-the-heck I told them I would pay $2K MORE then a Nissan Frontier. After an hour of price lowering from their side they arrived at a price about $3K more ... so I walked ... to the Nissan dealership across the street. While I was at the dealership I took a look at the scions and could not stop LAUGHING. The salesman was not pleased.

After meeting with a salesman I had talked to on the phone, test driving the truck and picking colors we casually walked up to the sales manager who gave me an out-the-door price $200 less then the lowest INSANE price I could have ever imagined. 2 hours later I drove my new truck away.

Toyota ... bah.
