The only problem I've had with it are that the video drivers are not the best and need updating. Ill probably try omega drivers down the line.
The Good:
- The laptop has a very solid feel to it and the style of the M:355 chassis is just awesome after the voodoo treatment. I've picked up acer notebooks using the same compal chassis and they felt flimsy, I guess the clearcoat really toughens it up. Whatever they did , its like a whole new animal.
- The screen, a perfect panel, not a single dead pixel. Some dust scared me at first but after dusting it off, everything looked amazing.
- The video card was a lot beter than I thought, most games worked very well at 1024x768. Once they get the video upgrade available we should be able to bump it up to 1280x1024. Haven't tried any really new graphic intensive games (Call of Duty, KotOR, etc) those are all installed on my desktop.
- The CPU and HD feel much faster than I anticipated. The boot time was very surprising. I restarted the system a few times just to see how fast it was. I still have to time it though.
With all the upgrades it just broke 3k, but I really wanted a laptop that I could upgrade. They are going to release a video card upgrade and battery (10+ hours!) upgrade hopefully by the end of the year or early next year.
I had a lot of reservations about buying one, but after it arrived that all went away. The few months of saving was worth it.
