Pictures of my home fleet

My parents suprised me and bought me a ~$250 digital camera today! An HP C200 for an early graduation present. 🙂 So I got a little picture crazy and took pics of my home fleet/herd/whatever.

My Home Fleet

Small room so not enough space to get all 4 systems in. Notice the "Box" system. Didn't have and ATX case, but had an ATX power supply, so I improvevised. 🙂 Also notice my poor 4 port hub all full. Also my extra CPUs sitting by my hub. Anyone have motherboards for these things so they can do Seti? I've got

K6-266
P133
6x86MX PR200
P166 missing a pin, maybe it'll still work 🙂

The other two are a 486DX33 and a DX266, but I toasted the DX2 and you can see the chip broke off the side from it melting after I put it in the motherboard wrong accidentally. 🙂

Oh, and what the systems are. The "box" is a P233, the next one over from it (running Linux) is a P200, then a K62-350 (my "flagship," yeah...) and then a P266. The P266 is sadly about as fast at Seti as the K62 is, due to the FPU and that it has 1MB L2 cache where the K62 has only 512k.

Need some Durons in here or something! 🙂 When school gets out and I get a new job, my output will greatly decrease. Maybe like 6 WU's a day with these boxes and friend's boxes running seti for me.

Hi Ben,

Looks good! I thought of you yesterday as I got my latest ship working. Using spare parts, I assembled a Pen233 OC'd to 262 MHz. I could not get SetiDriver to work until I upgrade 95B to 98. I installed Winsock2, but that didn't help. The first WU took 20 hrs., but the current one is on track to finish in less than 14 hrs. All of the parts are laid out on a table, sort of like your box computer. I plan to mount it on a board so that it will not be such a hazard. Then maybe I'll hang it on the wall! 🙂😀🙂😀

Look out SuperMicro, Addtronics et.al.!
The box is THE case to have!
I congratulate you on your home fleet, and hope that the BOX becomes the de-facto standard for high-performance seti machines!
Keep up the great work.

maybe i should get some durons and some of that cheap ram from best buy next week and use cable ties to suspend them form the wall behind my desk. out these pentiums and k5s i have to good use

You know..........If you get a KVM switch, you can run all those PC's with one monitor and one keyboard/mouse.
