They don't hire anybody at Google, ever. People pass jobs at Google on to their children, like some sort of employment inheritance. Only way to work there is to buy enough stock to get in the door.

Yep, it's near impossible to get a job at Google...

Why? It looks as if it is setup for people to be comfortable after working horrendous hours. Why else would you need a laundry mat?

Actually, that's not the case. The reason that Google's offices are comfortable is because the founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page wanted to give Google a collegiate atmosphere, because they said that they were laid back people themselves

The flowchart wall at the bottom of the second page is pretty funny. When I saw it there were boxes with Battlestar Galactica and other TV shows, Google for world domination, and Bush sucks. I don't know how often it changes though.

That isn't in the lobby, it's projected on an East wall of the Asian themed eatery.

Nope. You just have to be smart and stand out among other applicants.

Also, you guys should know that the average number of hours spent at work is 12+ hours according to someone who knows someone who works there.

Yeah, that's not true... there are people on this very forum that work for google that have posted about job openings at Google and helped other members get jobs there.

12 hours is not bad at all....it sucks if it's 7 days a week though. that's what i was pulling in my consulting days back at accenture :(

anyhow, my friend likes it a lot so far. you also get like a $7000 credit if you purchase a hybrid vehicle. the other day he told me he had korean bbq, korean pancakes, and coconut milk from the actual coconut for lunch haha
