Ok, i know there are a ton of amateur photographers lurking on these threads.

My question is how do you organize them all? I've literally shot thousands of photos, and i keep them seperated into folders by year, then subject.

Can anyone recommend using any sort of program to help maybe keep track of what i've got?

I've been using ACDsee for the past couple years, mainly for the batch processing, but i didn't see picasa having some of those rename, resize functions.

I personally don't like how iPhoto rotates, and resizes your photo, then puts the original into another folder.

I tried picasa a few years ago on my old box running 98se. It worked for me.

I got a new computer and XP and just didn't need it any more. I just make folders <August2005> <Beach2004> and store them in one mega folder.

If you want more options, picasa lets you enter keywords, so you can tag a photo with "Bob", "Outdoor", "Car", whatever, and search for photos that way.

Adobe Bridge is sweet! For the consumer you might try Adobe Album
