Picture saving in IE is broken I can only do BMPs please help me

Ok as the title says whenever I try and save a JPG file...good old right lcick save picture as....I used to be able to pic jpg or bmp...now all that is there is bmp...I have no option for saving as a jpg anymore.......I can view a jpg file like the screen shots from any game and when I go to save one...boom save as a bmp...now what the hell causes this and how can I get my save as jpg back?
what do i need to install/uninstall?
please help me out guys 🙁

If I remember right, all you need to do is clear out the I.E. cache completely.
 
let me try that....Im a newbie to XP...I never had htis happon on 2kpro.. so im at a loss 😕


*edit*well Ill be damned...that worked. Can someone explain why the hell it does that?

i would guess that because the cache is full, the jpg is not saved to disk but is stored in memory as bitmap for rendering. so when you save, ie saves from the bitmap in memory
