I agree. I'm not a baseball fan and don't really know much about how things work in the MLB but wouldn't the MLB be the one that decides whether they allow their players to use steroids?

Yes, MLB has introduced a steroid testing policy even more stringent than the one they had before. However, MLB also enjoy anti-trust exemption from the government so opportunist congressman use that for political grandstanding and photo-ops whenever they feel it can get them votes.

Well, considering that steroid use is illegal they shouldn't have the option of "allowing" it.

If the feds want to crack down on steroid use so be it, but do it with or without baseball.
