I believe Abit is wrong for denying me this rebate. I will forward this info to the California Attorney General Office and see if they can make a call. My friend, a corporate attorney, believes this is an easy case to review.

No wonder this company was bought out this year. We will see how long this outfit stay in business.

I asked Abit about the rebate because I've read so many bad things about TD.

Has anyone purchased this Abit AX8 board from New Egg and received your rebate?

On a positive note, I just received two rebates from Seagate (CompUSA Friday sale 200GB Seagate 7200.7). Still waiting for the CompUSA rebate. Seagate is EXCELLENT with MIR. Highly recommended. Also have some STX stocks but had to unload during this year's rally.

Well, it's not really TD's fault in this case, if ABIT is refusing to honor a rebate. And if I'm not mistaken, TD guarantees any manufacturer rebate, so why not give them a shot? I didn't have any problems when I ordered my Niko TV from them.

Exactly. The purpose of this forum is to share knowledge, good or bad. I'm sure many will see a TD HOT DEAL in this forum. Just remember the cockroach theory. It may not happen to you, but I believe that you should be extra careful when dealing with TigerDirect and Abit. Knowledge is POWER!

I contacted TD and they said to refuse the shipment. Easy way out. I will still forward this info to the proper regulatory agencies.
