I know no one that uses it, and it's rendered pretty much useless by satellite and true digital cable.

I used it when I lived at home.. The PIP that we had on the Wega XBR was cool.. You could split the screen in half and adjust the sizes with the joystick, and switch similutaneously for sound too.. :)

I love the PIP function on my 57" TV, I can watch more than one football game at a time during the blessed football season :)

Yep and I can't believe I paid $50 more for my 27" Toshiba Cinema Series TV because I just "had to have 2 tuner PIP".

I have played around with it about 5 times since June 2000 and have never really used it.

We have PIP in the TVs at our house, and i've used it maybe 2 or 3 times. It's pretty useless as the PIP is tiny and you dont get sound for both channels.

Actually I find the same thing on my big screen. My tv actually scans channels faster in split screen but I find I end up watching two channels pretty often. Its like 2 X 21" TV's or something.

I amused myself for a good three hours playing with the PIP right after our set was delivered.
I think I've used it once since, in like 10 years.

Initially I did but now I only get riled up whenever I think about it, like right now!!!

I love picture in picture. Mine is actually different. ON my 47" Panny, I can just split the screen and have two image side by side. It's nice if you want to have the weather channel on and watch something else (and have the sound on) at the same time. I also do it to watch the sports tickers on ESPN, while watching another show....

it's good for watching sports mostly, or if you want to get back to your channel after surfing during the commercials without missing anything.

Mine is great. Just like others 16:9 TVs, I basically have 2 27" screens side-by-side.

I use PIP all the time. Mostly when theres two shows on at once, and I'm too lazy to set the VCR. This is mostly for times when theres a show I really like and then a show I only care a little about.

Like on Thursdays I'll keep wrestling on in the PIP while I watch other stuff.

My officemate swears by the PIP. Given that pro football is 5 seconds of action followed by 30 seconds of ... jock adjustment, PIP probably comes in handy during the NFL season.

Great for sports, great for flipping around channels while waiting for a commercial break to end :)
