picture difference between component and VGA?

I got a new reciever today and it will only let me do component instead of the VGA I used to have and so I'm wondering if the picture quality should change or not..
 
Well, with my 1905FP and DVI, it auto-adjusts picture position and whatnot, and I guess the pictures quality is a bit better if you watch videos or such. You won't notice the quality in daily use like websurfing tho.
 
The difference in quality between VGA and component is debatable but VGA should be better overall since less conversion is needed . . . I doubt there would be a noticeable difference though unless you're particulary picky about image quality . . .
