*PICS* We bought a HOME!!! YAY! Virtual Tour Included!

Its actually a condo, but its still a new home to us! 😀 Its 2 stories, has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a 2 car garage (joined), no backyard, just a small patio, and really no frontyard. The area is really really nice (country club).

Kristin and I have been house hunting for the last 5 weeks. Surprisingly enough, its actually been alot of fun. We saw some real dumps and some great deals (like the one we bought). Anyways, let me give you a virtual tour:

- Picture Here is the entrance. As you can see, the recent rain has kinda beat it up a bit. The 4 windows on the right belong to the kitchen.

- Picture This is what you'd see walking in.

- Picture Here is a close shot of the entrance. I love how big an open its is. The door on the right in the entrance to the kitchen.

- Picture Now, we turn around (180 degrees) and you can see the small hallway that leads to a half bathroom and a closet. The door on the immediate right is storage underneath the stairs.

- Picture Here is a shot taken at the end of that hallway, with my back to the wall.

- Picture Entrance to the kitchen. Notice the arched entryways.

- Picture Now we're inside the kitchen, looking out those 4 windows (not really much of a view), but these windows provide alot of natural light throughout the bottom floor. I cannot beleive how big the kitchen is!

- Picture This was taken with my back to those 4 windows. The sellers included that refridgerator, another one in the garage along with the washer and dryer.

- Picture This is a shot (with Kristin in it) up the stairs from the living room.

- Picture This is my least favorite spot of the whole thing, the back patio. Its better than nothing.

- Picture Another shot of the back patio.

- Picture This is the living room with the fireplace.

- Picture A shot of the kitchen from the living room.

- Picture Here is a shot of the living room from up the stairs.

- Picture When you come up the stairs, this is what you see on the left. The bathroom (middle), a spair bedroom (right door), and the master (left).

- Picture This is the first bedroom you hit when going up the stairs, on the right.

- Picture Inside that room.

- Picture ....and one more. The other room is identical to this one, so I didnt take any pictures of it.

- Picture Regualr old bathroom with fishies.

- Picture Entrance to the master.

- Picture Windows in the master.

- Picture When you walk into the master bedroom, this is what you see when turning to the right.

- Picture Sinks and tub in the master bathroom.

- Picture The toilet in the master is in its own seperate little room. Kinda cool.

- Picture Shot of the tub in the master bathroom.

There you have it! Again, we're so excited! Escrow is 30 days, so we should be in there by the first week of December. If you're a home owner (especially in california), any advise would be appreciated. I've been told by some friends to get a CPA ASAP.

Cheers!

ohh nice place.

we thought about getting a townhome. There are some really nice ones around town for $120-150k. But we really wanted a yard. Though they did have parks in the area (with ponds and stuff!).

Not a bad place.

That's a beautiful looking place, especially for California. Congrats Warcrow! I hope you didn't sell your soul to buy that place.

AND FOR GOD'S SAKE KEEP YOUR RX-7!!! 😛

Thank you!

No, we didnt sell our souls. We had a budget, and knew what we could afford. We went in knowing we didnt want to be slaves to our home. We got a good deal on this.

Hey there! 😉

Am I right? CPA = save us alot of money from taxes?

Nice--Congratulations! I suggest that you kill the melaleuca tree in front.

edit: Why--you ask. 1) It's too big and too close to the condo. 2) It's ugly. 3) It's a destructive exotic species.

Nice! We actually just closed escrow on a condo in Sacramento. A little over 1K sq ft. 2bdrm, 2bath. 1 story. 20yrs old. I'll take pics and start a thread.

How much is the house? How is it being financed?

I'm not fond of the overuse of floor tile, but it looks like a nice pad.

Our plan, in the near future, is to rip out the tile and put in some pergo. 😀

Congrats! Looks a lot like our first home, which was a 3bd 2.5 bth condo in North County San Diego. Ours also had a 2 car attached garage but we had a larger patio/backyard (we actually had grass and some trees back there).

As for taxes, there isn't much you have to do differently. You will want to itemize your deductions but since you are buying it in December you probably aren't going to itemize until next year anyway unless you paid a lot in points on the loan. Your mortgage interest is deductible and your property taxes are deductible. It isn't hard to do your own taxes. Get turbo tax. It's much cheaper than a CPA.
