Good build, mine's similar, only wish I'd gone dual-core. w/ Everything at stock (X1900XT 625/1450, Opt 144 @ 1.8) I get 4110 in 3D Mark 2006.

The reason your's is faster is because of the dual-core and because your CPU is 600 MHz faster. Right now I'm going to bench it when my Opty's @ 2.1 and X1900XT @ 665/1480, it seems 3D Mark 06 wont take 675/1490 on my X1900XT...........

Im just amazed the cpu makes so much difference...that my 7800gt scores a little higher than his x1900xt 😵 u sure u dont got a virus or something?

With my Opt 144 @ Stock I get around 700 on the CPU score, you get DOUBLE that. It's only in 3D Mark 2006 the CPU makes such a difference however, in real games the an Opt 144 + X1900XT would beat the crap out of a X2 3800 + 7800GT.

BTW I get I around 4450 (too lazy to dig up exact score) in 3DMark 06 w/ Opt 144 @ 2.1 + X1900XT @ 665/1480. In real game performance, however, I'm very happy, playing BF2 1280x960, Maximum, 6xQuality AAA/16x HQAF, smooth as butter.

UPDATE: My exact scores w/ Opt 144 @ 2.1 + X1900XT @ 665/1480 are as follows:

3DMarks: 4435
SM 2.0 Score: 2151
SM 3.0 Score: 2323
CPU Score: 816

So my setup is performing as it should be, I'm getting way better graphics performance, but your CPU score is so much higher you can get a similar total score.

ahh the difference becomes apparent in the sm 2.0 and 3.0 brackets.

i wasn't sure how your cpu scored differently. pretty cool tho.

ill have to see how my 7900gt overclocked edition from evga is going to do here in a month when my free step up is exchanged.

It's going to take a month! Wow! If I were you I'd just sell it on the FS/T forums for $250-$260 and buy one from newegg or a similar store, you might pay a bit more but you'll get it way quicker.

That's pretty kickass in my opinion. According to your sig, you have a Radeon x1900, AMD 4800 X2, and 2GB RAM. In my mind, that would be pretty much a high-end system, not a noob 😛

i still have to run memtest again for anotehr 10 hours or so, i just raised my voltage from 2.6 to 2.7, @ 2.6 i got errors from memtest, gotta test again maybe tomorrow night, and i still wanna wire my case better
