Pics of my system

Spent this afternoon installing a Zalman cooler and cleaning up my cabling. The Coolermaster has this horrible pile of 4-pin plugs attached to the two front fans and the leds behind the bezel. I cut all that crap off and attached the fans and LED's to a single 4-pin, and generally cleaned up the rest of the cabling to make sure air could flow over the Zalman. I think I did a decent job with the cabling, but not great. I also think I might have messed up the AS5 application, by smearing a thin layer over the whole chip instead of putting a dot in the center as they instruct. Idling at 37 deg. c atm on stock settings.

The pics aren't great, as they were taken on a phone cam.

Thats good quality for a phone camera. 🙂

It looks nice and neat - all you need is some sleeving and heatshrink on some of those random wires for the final finishing touches. Nice job - you get a

It's a Treo 650, which actually doesn't have a bad camera, and can record 5 mins of video too.

All of which makes up for having to dial with either a touch screen or leetle teeny buttons the size of fly dicks.

Thanks for the comment. I may go in and sleeve some of those off, as you suggested.

[That's bad for a phone camera?? ]

Well, mostly it's just that I have a hard time holding it still.

I really hate you people who can clean up the inside of a case like this. I think I have tried to re-wire my Tsunami 2 or 3 times, I start out okay, but by the end it's shat he he he. Stupid side window panel makes me want to have it looking perfect inside.

Looks OK, it really does! Better than most, not as good as some.

When working in close quarters, those sharp ends of the zip-ties are like tiny razors. I just
bought a small flush cut tool($3) and works great to nip the ends smooth. In the past a sharp
knife was used.

Give the AS5 time to bed-in, they say 100hours. Even if you do have to reapply that HSF is
a breeze to pull.

I've spent my life in the middle, and I'm comfortable there 😉.

[Nice rig, I would do something about the HDD space though.]

Yeah, I made some stuff go away by shoving it back in there. Maybe that will be next weekend's project.

Thx for the comments!

Nice work, but how are you idling at 37C?? I have that case and the two front fans are connected to the fan-only connectors and I can't get anything below 40c. Maybe it's just because my ambient temps are so high... anyways, nice work on the cabling, I only wish I had a digital camera of some sort here at school so I could take some pics of mine and we could compare, hehe.

I didn't use the fan-only connectors the second time around. I was sick of the mess in the front of the case caused by the double-molexes on each fan and LED, so I snipped them all off and wired the lot into a single molex that I plugged into the same multi-plug line that is powering my sata hd, and video card. So I suppose the fans might be running faster, but they don't look or sound as if they are. It could be ambient temps, since it is pretty cool here today. I am idling at 34c right now with a 40c case temp.
