I am in love with my new P180... I just got it today, and spent half the day transfering all my hardware from my old CM Stacker, into this beauty. This case is the most well built case I have ever owned. The attention to detail Antec has put into this case is EXCELLENT. And its nice and quiet. Only thing I can hear right now is my 6800 ultra fan, that thing is insanely loud. But that will be fixed soon, because I ordered a Zalman VF-700 to replace it...

Anyway here is some pics I took of my case for now, I might take some better ones tomorrow. Cable management in this case is harder than I had even imagined. It took me forever to get everything set up perfectly how I want it. I got almost no wires showing now, and it looks excellent!

(edit 3/28/06) Here are new links to replace my old broken ones...

Here are the links to my old setup:

And here are the pics to my most current setup (specs in sig). I just finished it up today:

Well I hope you all enjoy, and feel free to ask any questions...

Damn, that looks good. Nice and tidy, too. No wires running around everywhere like mine. Strange PSU setup, but innovative.

I'm planning on using the same HS/F, and didn't realise it was so huge. Do your DIMM's fit under that well (or did you have to squeeze them in)?

And I'm also considering your heatsink/fan solution for VGA- but do you it'll fit? I look forward to an update where you install your graphics cooling.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I really appreciate it.

Now to answers your questions. The memory does fit under the HSF, but the first DIMM just clears it. When installing it, you kind of have to lean it a little bit to get it in. The other 3 RAM slots are fine, they aren't in the way of the heatsink.

As far as the Zalman VF700 goes, it'll fit of course, it takes up 1 PCI slot, just like my 6800 Ultra OEM HSF does already. So there won't be an issue there. I can't wait for it to come in already, cause I'm tired of this loud OEM one.

Your cable management skills suck! ;) Nice case. I found the hardest part of cable management are the video card power cables. You done good kid. Real good.

That has to be the best job of cable management that I've seen so far in a P180. That coolermaster ps must have some long ass cables to be able to hide them like that. Very nice work indeed.

See I can't decide between this case and my current Lian Li PC7B with 4 120mm fans.....its the traditional setup but I don't really know if the 4 120mm fans are doing a better job than a P180. Good job with the cables!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the cable management.
Before I bought my P180, I had looked at pics of everyone's setup, and everyone had some nasty wire management, so I was worried that it was going to be difficult, if not impossible to do a god management job. When I started doing the wiring, I thought it was gonna be impossible, but then I sat down, and looked at the case for a while thinking of how I can do this, and it came out extremely well, better than I had even hoped. It took me a few hours, but it was well worth it. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. And the cooling is excellent.

Well if it makes you feel any better and helps you decide, the P180 has 5 x 120mm fans. And does an excellent job of cooling while keeping the PC extremely quiet. This is the most well built case I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

I'm working on the same rig, with similar components. just got the Mobo in last night...

1) did you run te audio cables to the front? If so, how did you place them.
2) What did you use for cable mesh wraps?
3) where did you put the other (2) 120mm fans? In front of the big drive bay? It wasn't obvious how they would be mounted and attached.
4) what fans did you choose?
5) did you opt for a fan controller?

thanks, nice setup...I was just looking for someone to emulate. The check is in the mail.

1. I decided not to connect the audio cables because I never really use the front audio ports on my case. I plug my headphones directly into my speakers. So since I had no need for the front audio ports, I decided to just leave those cables out, less mess.

2. The mesh on my cables is the Vantec Sleeving kit. I sleeved the power supply back when I bought it.

3. I replaced the two rear fans with Coolermaster Blue LED 120mm fans. I put one of the Antec 120x25mm fans in front of my HDD's to cool those. You can't see it in the picture but it is there. As for the fans on the bottom of the case. I removed the huge 120x38mm fan because basically its useless to me, and its definately in the way if you want to do some neat cable management. And since I have no HDD's in the lower part of the case, I decided not to put a fan down there at all. My power supply already has a 120mm fan inside, so I decided that was good enough.

4. I answered this in #3

5. I have a fan controller. The Coolermaster Aerogate 3, but I haven't even opened it yet. I'm debating on weather or not I actually need to use it. Because right now the only loud fan inside my case is the 6800 Ultra. That fan is so loud. But its being replaced with the Zalman VF700, so I guess I'm going to wait till the new VGA cooler comes in before I decide whether or not to keep the fan controller.

I'll post my pics of my SuperLan Boy when I get home... Only thing it doesn't have is sleeved power cables... but considering I got 2 Optical drives, a Floppy drive, and 4 Hard drives into that case, I think I did pretty damn well considering you can only see about 3-4 wires.

It was $127 shipped (cheapest price yet). And I ordered it on Wednesday, and it came yesterday (Friday).

Woot, now I am even more jittery than before :D. Getting this case for an upgrade soon.
I doubt I will spend 1/4 of the time you did on cable management, but very good job. 10/10
Has no window, so I'll be very sloppy hehe, just push 'em aside for airflow and it's good enough for me.

LOL, yea well it definately wasn't fun getting the cables that neat. Took a couple of hours, I kept getting frustrated. But it paid off I think, it came out great, and I love it.

Haha.. I sold the Stacker the other day to buy the P180. I liked it so much I decided to let my Stacker go. Stacker was a great case too tho, just something about this one that I like better.
