Pics of my completed car audio system

The install job was completed by myself. This replaced the Nakimichi premium system that came with the car. I also replaced the tiny 4" front and rear speakers which I don't have pics of (components up front and 2way coax in rear). Total was $2300.

very nice. I am in the process of redoing my car audio as well. should be done in the next couple weeks.

btw, making an amp rack and sub box from scratch is a PITA...but fun 🙂

Nice. So now you'll be the dude blasting the rap that I hate LOL. Seriosly though nice system.

It really isn't that loud. I was going more for SQ than SPL. Also, if I was to turn it up I keep it to myself by having my windows up.

Pretty nice, will you be blasting Chinese Pop songs with that setup?

They have good music but since I'm not chinese I don't listen to it that often.

Nice job on the IB setup. What infinity sub is that? Does it sound pretty good IB?

Nice Eclipse too. What components did you put up front?

Never seen a sub mounted like that before, kinda neat. Can you post a pic of the sub from the inside?

The stock sub was mounted the same way so I just utilized the opening with a wood spacer. The spacer was mounted to the deck using stock bolt holes (I wanted no drilling to the car). This is simply just an infinite baffle install meaning there's no box and the sub uses the whole trunk as the enclosure. You can't see the sub from within the interior because of the stock grill covering the opening.

The sub is a Kappa Perfect 10.1. Their specs say it's suitable for IB use but the amount of wattage it can handle is halved. I tried it in a sealed box first and surprisingly the IB setup sounds very close in SQ, not too boomy but good enough for me.

The front components are Focal 165 V1 6.5" mounted on a custom baffle boards. The rears are Boston Acoustics SX65 2way 6.5" coaxs on custom baffle boards as well.

Eclipse makes some nice products...where did you get the bezel for the GS? It matches the dash pretty well. I've been looking for one for mine, but couldn't find one that matched.

Nice job. Those BA's are incredible speakers. I installed a previous-model pair in the wife's Accord a couple years ago.

I gotta post my car install pics eventually. Did it up last summer, still haven't gotten around to it yet. 🙁

That looks nice and clean, but I'm not seeing the $2300. 😕
Did you see the HU?
The $150 LCD? 😕

I mean, I guess I don't know what's all going on behind the scenes in this setup (not an audiophile by any stretch,) but can't you get a decent 8" LCD ceiling-mount DVD system for ~$500?

Is this thing HD-based, or just a CD player/changer? What's so special? Is it just the quality?

I love the Eclipse install, looks clean. I think you could have done better in the truck however, mostly just finishing touches.

If I'm not misktaken, those JL Audio amps have end caps. I would get those on there and I would have drilled the holes for the amp wiring a lot closer to the amp body. It looks like they are too far away from the amp to hide them even with end caps.

For the sub, I'd be concerned with that install. It looks like the sub is mounted to the baffle with wood screws. That will not hold up. I would have used T-bolts to mount it to the baffle. The baffle mount looks OK, but it would have been a nice finishing touch to just spray paint it. Also, it that sub a dual voice coil? If not, why are the speaker terminals facing towards the back? Rotate in 180 degrees, cover the speaker wire, and do a better job hiding the speaker wire. Finally, tuck the CD Changer cord under the trunk mat.

I would also be a little concerned that your trunk is not sealed from the cabin of the vehicle. It sounds like the factory install was IB, but I doubt if it was a good IB setup. I, at a minimum, would have created a cover for the entire rear deck along with a cover for the rear of the seat. I, however, am not familiar with your vehicle, so it may be unnecessary.

All minor things really, but it all makes for a better install. I thinks its a nice install, I would like to see more pictures of the install for the Focals though.
