Cool picture. I might try to make a wallpaper from his skin. Nice colors and pattern.

here's my deal: I love lizards. They are beautiful, interesting and just plain awesome.

But my old roommate had one and the thing bit the shit out of me. Like latched on and I pulled it out of his aquarium with his jaws still attached to my hand.

Since then, I can't imagine putting my hand near one of those things and all I can think about is how the hell someone can have something that just wants to bite you?

It doesn't want to bite you, nobody ever sat across the room from a small lizard and ended up getting bitten. If you are going to invade its personal space then expect the worst.

I recorded a video of him eating crickets this morning for your viewing pleasure. Sorry it's kind of long and you can hear me saying stupid stuff, but you get to see his crazy tongue. It's available in 720/1080p.

I've never come across any geckos or bearded dragons that bite. Mine has never bitten anyone or shown the slightest bit of aggression. They're naturally pretty calm, so I wonder if your old roommate did something to instigate that behavior. Maybe not, but it's unusual for sure.

So he eats WAY more healthier than most Americans.

lol, good point

Thanks. If you make a cool wallpaper, I'd love to see it.

Lazy lizard. He's not very aggressive in going after the dropped crickets :^D

What would happen if you held the cricket leg? Could he easily get it from you?

What's involved in cleaning his tank? Is lizard poop easy to deal with?

lol. Yeah, he can be quite lazy.

He won't take them out of my hand unless they're freely moving. You can see in the video that he wouldn't try for the cricket I was holding between my fingers until I let go with the top finger so it could roam around. I'm not sure why.

Cleaning his tank is simple. I bought a small pooper scooper - similar to what you'd use for a litter box, but with much finer mesh - and that's all it takes. I use either crushed walnut or sand for his bedding, so it's cheap. The smell is very minimal if you keep up with the scooping, which is easy because he usually only goes to the bathroom once a day. Also, he usually takes a dump when he gets a bath, which makes it much easier to clean. I fill a bucket with about 1" of warm water and leave him in it for about 5 minutes. It makes him want to go I guess. I spend those 5 minutes cleaning up his cage to save time.
