I found out about it over a month ago during a CT, was 5mm at the time.

I went to England/Netherlands for a few weeks and drank soooo much OJ(Dr. recommended) I got it down to 3mm during my 2nd CT.

Passed it a couple minutes ago :) Only took more then a freakin month.

BTW: Was my 5th in 6 years, this one I caught though so I can have it annaylized and figure out whats causing them.

Thank the world for small favors.

thx. silly to be happy, but a month of constantly being in pain and having to take alot of pain killers is over. Nothing like having a dull knife stuck in you for a solid month.

BTW: My liver got screwed up from all the pain meds, producing some liver enzyme 3 times as high as it should. I had to stop taking the pain killers for the last 4 days which was less then pleasant.

I feel your pain. I drink 3-4 quarts of water a day now, that seems to keep them away. I can usually feel it when one is building, so then I cut soda out of my diet entirely for about 3 weeks and all is well

My first was at 20 as well, and it hurt so much I cried like a little bitch.

Thought I was dying, wanted them to cut me open and get it out.

Women can pass kidney stones too?

Don't know much about 'em, but for some reason I thought only men got them.

Never had one, never want one, but bump for your pain!!

I have a bro-in-law who can get 'em just thinkin' about 'em. They keep testing, but nobody knows what the heck causes 'em.

Last go around he was drinking water like a freak, just like the doctor told him. He still got one. They almost cut it out, but instead they went up thru his pee hole (mother !!$^%#^) and zapped it.

I dunno............if I ever get one, you can just check me out. A little morphine overdose & I'll be gone.....errr.........fine, thanks!!

:D

Who gets kidney stones?

For unknown reasons, the number of people in the United States with kidney stones has been increasing over the past 30 years. The prevalence of stone-forming disease rose from 3.8 percent in the late 1970s to 5.2 percent in the late 1980s and early 1990s. White Americans are more prone to develop kidney stones than African Americans. Stones occur more frequently in men. The prevalence of kidney stones rises dramatically as men enter their 40s and continues to rise into their 70s. For women, the prevalence of kidney stones peaks in their 50s. Once a person gets more than one stone, others are likely to develop.

If you have kidneys you can have stones.

My wife passed a 3ml as well. She was in pain for days before and I just blew it off as her regular complaining of aches and pains. Then she said it hurt too much and she needed to go to the hospital.

She passed it and I looked like a jerk :(

Now I listen better.

Hmmm...interesting.

I drink 2-3 cups of machine coffee that are in those small cups. But I've only recently started this due to working and before I was a student I didn't drink coffee regularly. Not much alcohol consumption as I'm a lightweight.

Hopefully I won't have to pass any kidney stones!

Sounds nasty, but PICS have been added with a Dime to demonstrate size.

Pic 1 shows the crystals which is all it pretty much is, a collection of minerals in the form of crystals.

A glass of cranberry juice every day is supposed to help prevent kidney stones.
My father had them every so often, tried the cranberry juice daily, and has not had one since.
