PICS!!!! Help me identify this insect bite!

Got on the back of my calf it last weekend while camping.

It itches like hell. I was wearing 40% DEET repellant. It clearly did lots of good.

I don't think it's a tick because it hasn't turned into a bullseye rash (I've had a tick bite before and it HAS been a bullseye after a day or so). Also, that dot in the middle is a tiny scab, not a burrowed insect.

Possibly a deer fly? There were TONS of them where we were.

Human Botfly.

I guess it could be a deerfly; those things are nasty, but I've never had a deerfly bite turn red like that before. Maybe it's a spider bite or something. Or you just have an allergic reaction to it.

This was in NW Michigan...not likely, as botflies are common in Mexico. But from what I've read, they're gross bites. :Q

It could be a spider bite. Don't mess around with it - get to minor emergency if you have one, or the ER if you have to, and get it looked at.

I had a spider bite a couple of years ago. I ended up needing intravenous antibiotics, and they wanted to keep me in the hospital overnight. Don't let yours get that bad.

Brown Recluse? I hear they are common in these states, Illinois, Michigan, etc.

Also, I have an identical bite on my arm but it's much less red and swollen. 😕

Was this NW Lower Peninsula? Or the Copper Country? If the latter, it might be the U.P. state bird.
NW LP. LOL...I've got plenty of mosquito bites and none of them swelled like this (I've got three of these big ones, only two look like this).

Also, I'm not experiencing any pain at the bite or in the surrounding joints, it's just a bad itching. I've applied Benadryl cream to the sites but that gave me little relief.

My guess is Lyme Disease

I hope not.
I've been bitten by ticks before in the same area of the country, and the bite quickly took on a bullseye pattern. I'm pretty confident that it's not a tick.

something bit you...thats for sure...but what?!

My guess is...................................A SPIDER BITE!!!!!

You'll be our first spider-man.....let me know when you start spraying webbing all over the place....🙂

About that mexican botfly....with that much hair your skin likely has a more humid atmosphere....they might have migrated

definitely a type of tick bite, for sure. I have a matching one on my arm from earlier in the week in upstate NY. I know it was a tick because I pulled it off myself😛

Shoot, I've got a lot more leg hair than that, his just stands out a lot because it's dark.

I'm gonna saaaaay... spider bite.
