Doing the Nalley Historic Roswell NRC races this Sunday if anyone's feeling sporty. I'll be competing in the men's 3/4 and 2/3 races. :)

5/3/05

[*] Well, we won the 3/4 race and survived the 2/3 race (barely). I'm still waiting for the local pro photographer there to post the pics on his web site, but here's one of me in the 2/3 race. Why I appear to be smiling, I don't know since that race was stupidly fast. :p

Remind me why I pay to do this?

More pics.

Fun, fun, fun.

Moving to the front toward the end of the race.

Covering a breakaway attempt.

Taking the front at the start of the final lap.

The last pic is interesting since it shows the leadout train in action. The guy on the left has just taken a big pull for most of a lap and is now dropping back into the pack. I'm just starting my work and the guy behind me takes over with a half-lap to go to get our sprinter (just to the right of the pic) in position to win the race. Which he did. :)

It's all metric and would take hours to explain properly. :p

(Answer: I'm a Category 3 rider. They're combining the 4's and 3's in one race and the 2's and 3's in another. Since I'm a 3, I can do both.)

I think that to make it sporting, they should leave Hwy 9 open to general trafffic. Oh, and postpone the race to 7:30 am Monday morning. If that dont put a 3/4 in your drawers I dont know what will.

Seriously, good luck and let us know the results.

Peace

Trust me, going through a corner with 100 other riders at 30mph is a shorts-filling event in its own right.

Well, we pulled the leadout-train trick again and put our sprinter on the top of the podium. Pics should be up soon. :D

Go Specialized! :p

Yeah, get a real brand!
Maybe next year. :(

lol... i was joking... :p

Specialized doesn't really raise eyebrows among roadie snobs :frown:... anyway... this year might be their best chance yet to place higher in the pro tour since Gerolsteiner is riding them... plus Fausto is a Campy boy so I don't think Specialized is good enough for him... unless it was free. ;) :p :D

Actually, Specialized makes very nice road stuff. Several guys on our team have Roubaixs or the Aluminum E5s. Bianchi just happens to be our bike sponsor this year...who knows what we'll get next year.
