Just got back from killing time in the city with Tiffany for Valentines Day. Got some good pics and I know how much everyone LOVES visuals so here you are:

Traffic Getting Onto the Bay Bridge

Bored in the Aforementioned Traffic

Seagull that let me get pretty close

Far too cold for my tastes

Golden Gate Bridge as seen from Fort Point

Shot of the Pacific Ocean from a trail

Lighting was horrible today and it was getting quite dark at the end. Unsteady hands were not my friends and so most of the pictures I took came out blurry. I put the ISO up a bit high and so others came out grainy. No matter though, these are to preserve the memories of the day, not to win a photography contest. Certainly does feed the fuel of my desire for a Digital SLR however...

Some nice looking pics there

Thanks and thanks!

You're welcome. Wow...the forums seem really slow tonight.

Slow as in not much activity that is.

Agreed. I even puts pics in the title. That would normally account for more than 3 replies!

Must be mass suicide since so many people are depressed about being alone tonight.

Quackrabbit: I have a question for you. I live in San Francisco and there are homeless people here because they came here to escape the winter cold and summer heat of Texas. Our ex-mayor and board of supervisor's just can't wait to dole out $$ here for the homeless while letting the public school systems go to sh*t.

I remember a few years ago that a San Franciscan wrote to the chamber of commerce in Houston what is some of the better Italian restaurant's located there(thinking about moving to Houston) and one anwser that came back was Shakey's Pizza...

what surf spot is that?? Looks very cold

It's literally right under the Golden Gate Bridge.

indeed. the waves don't finish on a beach .. they finish on a wall of rocks. well .. many feet away from the wall of rocks. it's fun watchign them surf for about 10 minutes.

in that area, at the foot of the GOlden Gate Bridge, there are military people with rifles that just stand around and make things look safe. it's fun to talk to them. the area is called, Fort Mason

That is correct. The locals there are complete dicks. If you want to surf there you better bring your baseball bat and a helmet. Be prepared to be dropped in on every wave and dont even think about launching on a set wave. I never go there without at least 2 other friends.

<-- had his tire slit there once. At least they only slit one, so I could get home on the spare.

The place is called Fort Point. It doesn't break very often (it needs a pretty specific swell direction to break inside the mouth of the bay like that), and it's highly localized - meaning that the local surfers there don't really tolerate people they don't know in the water. There aren't a lot of waves that break there, and they feel they have more right tothem because they live close by. It's a good wave when it breaks, but I don't know if I'd want to risk coming out of the water and having my car keyed or my tires slashed for it.
