Man it feels good to be back behind the viewfinder. It's been almost a year since I have used any camera with intent. This was my first outing with the Sony A200 as well.

I am stuck on a Celeron M laptop until the end of the month with only The GIMP as software, so these are some quick edits that I did on the JPEGs. I have RAWs that I process when I get home.

I thought one of my lenses (KM 24-105mm) died today, but after sitting in the bag for a few hours it came back to life! :p

Out of about 400 shots, I had 33 keepers.

I like Monterey, I was there for summer once.... an absolute serene haven.

Yeah I had fun today. My only complaint was that it was a bit hazy/foggy but I had to work with it.

Funny, I was there (the aquarium) on Monday, May 26. Still haven't looked at the pics I took.

How was the crowd? It was pretty packed today being the weekend and all. I've never been to a place where so many people had DSLRs though. Too bad 99% of them were using kit lens plus flash. :(

The aquarium is very nice there.

Did you go on the 17 mile drive? Your tree shot looks like it was from that area.

They look great! I've got some unprocessed aquarium shots too, from two weeks ago. I try to go once every 6 months or so, I love it there and I live close so I have no excuse not to go. Very pretty area.

Nice shots.. How's the Sony treating you? Looks good by the photos... For the aquarium shot, what lens? I'm guessing either the Minolta or Sony 50mm 1.4 by the exif, but I don't trust Panda EXIF reader that I recently installed. Seems kinda random sometimes...

The Sony 50mm f/1.4.

For the wider shots I used my KM 24-105mm. I actually kind of like being limited to 35mm on the wide end. It forces me to pay more attention to framing. If I go wider, say for example like 28mm or below, I find myself getting lost in what I really want to shoot, and I end up with just a wide angle snap of everything.

Come to think of it I was there on Tuesday, May 27. There were very few people there.

That sony's producing some nice colors. Are those straight from the camera, or is there some saturation adjustment being done? Nice shots, overall.

i like the colors a lot. the last one is a bit busy and looks like there is a bit too much sharpening. but that could just be flare off the water.
