Pics.bbzzdd.com keeps getting worse in terms of load lag and overall speed. What used to be a quick way to share pics is turning into a joke as users click on an image, then wait, wait, wait... It would seem to me like the #1 cause of this is so many people thinking they are elite and uploading massive images. Then scores of ATOTs jam up the server just to view someone's blurry picture of hamster genitals or Jessica Alba. bbzzdd has been a backbone of ATOT for a long time, we should keep it around and not bury it in oversized pictures.

 
Is the problem even related to filesizes? It seems the lag first popped up around the site redesign and seems to be slowly getting worse.
 
How many fvcking threads are we going to have about this same exact whining? Want something better? Reprogram it yourself! It's free so either find another host or STFU.

Not a complaint, more like feedback. ATOT went a long time without many users uploading oversized pics. Now everyone and their mom goes out and takes the largest image they can and uploads it (uncompressed).

You should take a 7MP pic of yourself crying and upload it to the pics.bbzzdd.com.

Btw, I host my own pics, I do not use bbzzdd for anything except to view picture placed there by others.
 
I bitch about people who don't resize their images also. XP Powertoy Image Resizer. I use it on every single pic I upload. Do it. Do it now.

#1 maxim of every programmer: DON'T TRUST USERS. Users are completely expected to be too stupid to be smart about picture file sizes. 😛

I haven't touched the pics? code in forever, but I suppose that I'll request the server info and (if granted) start on some optimizations starting next week. 🙂

The service itself works perfectly fine, the end users are the ones ruining it for themselves.
