I ran across This PSU, and found it very interesting.. ;)

100% Silent The picoPSU-120 mini PSU is a 100% silent dc to dc solution. No fans, no noise, just power for small and silent PCs.

picoPSU-120 is a fully compliant DC-DC ATX PSU. It can power VIA mini-ITX boards with C3 or C7 processors, P3, P4, Pentium-M, and AMD processors

/me would like to see some tests run on that to see if it can put out anywhere near the claimed 120W without pooping itself :p

Hmm ok. I'm not seeing a reason for this. You still need regular PSU to deliver 12V DC to this thing and run everything else in the system.

According to the Manual, any 12 VDC power adapter (such as one found at Radio Shack) or 12 VDC source can be used... Not another PSU. It is supposed to run everything in the system by it's self....

EDIT: It may be a great solution for a Mini-ITX rig....

Ok, that clears things up. I was a bit confused on the connectors this thing has. Thanks.

I believe its claim. Its cost that keeps power supplies big. Technology can make everything smaller. >90% efficient DC-DC converters are a reality.
