picking a new router

I would like to know who makes good cable/dsl routers that are feature rich a company besides linksys. I've had problems with my linksys and I'm strongly considering getting a new router . Please list any review links.

JackMDS would usually post something here, and I'm surprised he hasn't yet...but I'm going to steal his link and give it to you. Comparing Cable/DSL Routers. Like he says, the link is courtesy of TallGeese.

I have the SMC 7004ABR Barricade router and it's pretty good. You'll see the SMC, Netgear, and Linksys routers compared in that link.

Hope this helps.

Don't be mad at me JackMDS!! 😀

I second SMC Barricade... It usually around the same price as Linksys or Netgear, but have built-in print server...

I've had one for more than 1 yr, and absolutely no complaints!

sonicwall - talk about feature rich. Give 'em a shot - you won't have the performance problems that linksys and netgear have.

Here is my .02. I have a Netgear RT314 and have had zero problems with it since I upgraded to firmware version 3.25. I know that Netgear gets knocked around a lot here but I really have no complaints with mine. I just checked and it has been up, without a reboot, for 2700 hours.
Having said that, there is a router that I have toyed with upgrading to if I could pedal my RT314 to someone at work. The Zywall 1 just became available and is getting some good feedback on some of the networking forums. It is basically a Zywall 10 with an integrated 4-port switch. Think of it as an RT314 on steroids. The Zywall 1 offers some awesome security features if you don't mind spending the extra money.
