Well, I started thinking *which is never a good thing * And I came up with the conclusion that I would rather just get a PS2 then *my luck it would* take a chance on something happening to the PS3 and having to sending it to SONY, and not receiving the same thing back.

Good call actually. I am terrified that my 60GB will croak because there's no way in hell they will get me a replacement.
I very much doubt this is true. I believe that some states (CA?) have some very restrictive laws about warranties that would force them to replace it with the same model. Besides, they always talk about repairing it, not replacing it.

Don't know for sure. I've heard stories of 60GB owners waiting over a month for a replacement and getting scratched up refurbs in the end. I'd rather it just not break I than take the chance 🙂

I keep my stuff clean and dust free. I don't even worry about my 360 which has more of a chance of croaking.

Yep, I totally agree with you Chris. My PS3 is kept in a cool non enclosed environment. But if it happens to ever *go bad* I like the idea of knowing i'll at least get the same model back. But even SONY themselves cannot guarantee a exact replacement.

And a console being returned scratched up and shit....would totally piss me off. I like my stuff pristine.

I even bought a type writer cover to put over the PS3 for when its not in use.

I can never understand this mentality.. I'm infinitely more concerned with my stuff working properly than in keeping it looking like it just came out of the box. So much so infact that I typically prefer a little light defacing just so that I can tell something is MINE.. My ps3 is the one with the chip here, a sractch there, and the broken PS logo 😀

*shrug* Takes all types to turn the world I guess..

This was done to keep dust to a minimum. Otherwise I would be cleaning it everyday.
