Picked up my H&K USP Compact

Not much a fan of modern handguns, but that's sure is pretty lil' betty 😀 How much kick does a full-size .357 handgun have? (I don't know the right firearms terms...)

reminds me of chris rock during his standup-

"Fvck that. l like guns. You got a gun, you don't have to work out. l ain't working out. l ain't jogging. You got pecs, l got Tecs."

That's a compact; not full-size. It's also fires .357 SIG cartridges. That's a 9 mm round in a necked down .40 case. It's a peppy round.

Hey, OP! Congrats. Is that the factory case? Looks different than mine. Mine has cutouts for the gun and mags.

How are you going to carry it? I carry my .45 compact with a chambered round, the safety off and the hammer down; long, first trigger pull.

I'll carry it cocked and locked in an IBW holster from Milt Sparks. And yes, that's the factory case.

Without shooting it, I can easily say that it isn't nearly as nice a gun as any of my Sigs. The fit and finish and general feel of it just isn't as high of quality. We'll see how it shoots.

I may pick up one of the new Sig 239 SAS models, I played with one a bit yesterday, and it's very nice. Definitely has a custom gun feel to it, like my Kimber.

Nice! I'm going next week to pickup a Kel-Tec .380 off a guy here in town. It's going to be my summer carry as my .40 is a little to large to be taking around with me all the time in shorts & a t-shirt.

What kind of stuff do you have to go through to buy a handgun online? I was thinking it would be a good idea because the guns would be cheaper? I am interested in getting one at some point, but I've only shot a handgun once before, so I should probably shoot a few to see what I like best first?

Just got back from the range. The DA pull is atrocious on the H&K. The SA is great though, with virtuall no takeup whatsoever, and a decent break. Put 100 rounds through it. Other than that, it's very pointable, accurate and really exudes the feeling of a sound combat pistol.

The new Sig 228 two-tone shot just like the other 228 that I own. Too much takeup in the trigger IMO but a very nice crisp break. The DA on the Sig is also MUCH more liveable than on the H&K.

Things I learned:
The H&K will be carried cocked and locked, for sure. (Since the DA is so bad)
I shot 100 rounds of 9mm ammo. Cost= $11 (loaded it myself)
I shot 100 rounds of .357 sig ammo. Cost = $30 (bought at local cheaper than dirt and walmart.)
The cost doesn't bother me as much as the fact that both places I went had very little .357 sig ammo. I bought everything both places had for $100.
