paid $1600. It's 1.1c of channel set baguettes in platinum. It was in the 1/2 price case, and her family knows the owner, so we got a little discount on top of that...

She got a 1.1c princess cut solitaire in platinum for her engagement ring.

Yes. But wedding rings are generally cheaper (you can get a plain band without diamonds if you like).

And yep I dropped a similar amount on her wedding band, but I went ahead & bought both the engagement ring + the band at the same time (proposing in 4 weeks and counting, wooooohooooooooo!)

yeah...funny story.

We've dated for just under 4 years now. She actually bought my wedding ring about 18 months ago. She was sure it was destined to be needed. The ring she bought was a bit "bling" for my tastes, so we exchanged it for a more simple one.

I'm in construction, and she picked one with a diamond in it, and I was afraid it wouldn't take the abuse...
