Well, guys,

I couldnt resist this board. Its going to be Discontinued so i picked it up for 99.90

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813131224

Anyhow, is anyone running a 9850BE on it? Is there any issues with the higher TDP phenoms on this board?

Is there also any pointers someone can give me on overclocking the 9850BE. Is it picky on something?

I decided to give phenom one last chance. If its not what i hope (And its little on AMD side), its getting donated to my admin.

The 790FX boards are among the best boards for the Phenom. Check out the XS thread on the M3A32-MVP- yes it supports 125w CPU's and (supposedly) the upcoming 140W CPU's, it was only the more 'budget' boards with weaker power regulation that could not handle the 125w quads. The good thing about the Asus is that it has NB Multi adjustment in the retail Bios so be sure to report back about that (have seen screens of 2500mhz on the NB).

Yeah as i said i couldnt resist the price on the board. I went out to frys because my SMP server went down. Saw the board on sale, and went OMG! Phenom is getting 1 more chance!

LOL.

And Normally i would of gone though XS, however XS has been having problems. PM's still down over there. :\

I have one of these boards also and one of the three core phenoms. I haven't kept up with OCing since Celerons fit in a slot and all you could really do was make them fun at 100mhz fsb. I need a hit on simple things to try on the M3A32 since most of the bios setting I see are completely greek to an old guy like me. It is nice that soldering seems to be overwith though. Give an old guy a chance, will ya.

If you do I'll write you a story.
