Awww! I picked up a stray once. She ended up having kittens. My family didn't choose her though, she chose us.

My friends just did that. They picked up a stray which had kittens shortly after. They found home for all but two of the kittens, and the mom. They had reserved two of the kittens to keep for themselves.

It was raining bad yesterday, she was happy to have a warm place to sleep and some food. If the vet says she is ok (no worms or bad illness) then we will let her into the rest of the house to hang with our cats.

Strays or abandoned animals turn out to be the best pets. We have a cat running around our neighborhood that is a stray or abandoned. I have been trying to get her to come into the house so I can at the very least bring her to a no kill pound. Part ofher ear is bitten off so she is having a rough time of it. Plus the weather is turning, I feel for her. I leaver food outside for her and every couple of days it is gone. I hope she is the one eating it. And every couple of weeks she sticks her face against our downstairs window.

I live in Granger, IN

This cat is so friendly I wouldn't be surprised if she was missing somewhere. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for missing cat posters for the next few weeks.

Aww! What a sweetie! You lucked out!
I seem to be able to pick the mean strays. The first stray I picked up was a tease you could talk to her sweetly and she'd give you goomie eyes and start kneeding but as soon as you went to pet her she'd try to bite you.

The 2nd stray I picked up is absolutely beautiful, but he hisses when you pet him and is otherwise quite rude.

Just an update. Got her to the vet today. No bad illness, but she does have round worms. So they gave her some meds and said in 48 hours she is safe to be introduced to our other cats.

She also needs to be spayed.

"I'm kinda like the guy who takes care of all the kitties in the park. Otherwise, there'd be nobody to take care of them. This beautiful being, I found him in a storm drain - fuckin' names spray-painted on him - 'n' burdocks all fuckin' stuck to him. But I cleaned him all up - look at 'im - that's one fuckin' nice kitty right there." -- Trailer Park Boys
