picked up a 3DS ... what to play?~

So my buddies are playing Pokemon, haven't touched that since high school...picked up a 3DS, and am liking it so far....3D-ness is weird, but that interactive cards the thing came with are awesome!

I have a list of what I want...anything I am missing?

mario kart DS
suikoden DS
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
New Super Mario Bros.
Mario Party DS (7)?

I came in here ready to make fun of you for buying a console without first researching the games only to end up disappointed.

So far it's been worth it for pokemon alone ... I am just asking if there are some games I should get...damn.

I also want a lot of the old DS games....sooo

I already had a list of games I wanted to try ... I assume the lists are pretty similiar?

I don't venture into console section often.

If you like the style all three DS Castlevanias are good.

The Professor Layton games are fun.

There have been a few Squaresoft re-releases (FFIII, FFIV, Chrono Trigger).

Dragon Quest X (or is it IX) is supposedly awesome.

Advance War Dual Strike.

There is a Mario and Luigi RPG game that is good but I can't recall the name.

Clubhouse Games used to be awesome for taking on a trip but is superseded by smart phones now.

Elite Beat Agents is awesome but you look kind of crazy playing it anywhere but at home.

GTA Chinatown Wars is supposed to be good.

Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D are pretty much the only must have games at this point. Not really any blockbusters coming out until November.

Well considering OoT 3D and StarFox 64 3D are the only 3DS titles currently available that I was interested in, that's left me limited to DS titles and DSi software until 3DS games like Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Kid Icarus come out later this year.

it sounds like you were in the same boat I was and skipped out on the DS and thus DS titles would work as well.

if that's the case, you are in luck as there are plenty of excellent DS and DSi games available.

You list LoZ Spirit Tracks, which is the newer Zelda DS title, but do not forget about LoZ Phantom Hourglass

Also, you might not want to bother with Mario Kart DS with Mario Kart 7 so close

Chrono Trigger for the DS is supposed to be the definitive version of the highly renowned game, and is only $20 new, so arguably a must have regardless of whether or not you've played it before

GTA Chinatown Wars is also pretty good (regularly rated as the best DS title) and can easily be found for $15 new.

If you like StarFox, you might want to check out StarFox Command (StarFox title specifically developed for the DS) which can be regularly found for less than $20 new (paid ~$15 for mine)

As far as downloadable games, I'd recommend LoZ Link's Awakening ($5.99 Game Boy Color Virtual Console), Cave Story ($9.99 DSiWare) and Plants vs. Zombies ($7.99 DSiWare)

Thanks a lot bunny...exactly what I was hoping to read.

I'll hold off on the mario games, since the newer games are coming out so soon.

totaly forgot about Phantom hourglass too!! I got to get that one.

EDIT : I don't see mario party 7 on any release tables, any ideas on that? or just speculation it will come out?
