You're right, the Corsair 750W would certainly be plenty of juice for your build, likely even if you went Crossfire, but I'm never critical of anyone buying the most powerful PSU they can afford.

I'm not a fan of the dominator RAM, just b/c too often those big heatsinks just get in the way of other things (particularly installing aftermarket CPU coolers). I'd stick with G.Skill, or Corsair w/o the heatsinks.

Get the xigmatech CPU Cooler (see the 'attention system builders' sticky in this forum for the link).

With a build this high-end, if you have the desk space, I'd upgrade to a 24'' monitor. You'll be happy with all that wonderful screen real estate.

The Rampage is a great mobo (that's what I'm using currently), though it's overkill for most people. The x48 chipset will allow you to Crossfire two 4870's if you want at X16 speeds. The board is very easy to overclock, blazingly fast, and has every possible feature you could want. Keep in mind when the new line of Intel CPU's come out(? 6-12 months), if you want to upgrade, you'll have to buy a new board (new socket).

If I were you, I'd throw in another HD in the 500gig+ range for data (music, video, pix, other files) and reserve the velociraptor for your OS/games/programs.

modeheo: Thanks for the suggestions. For the monitor, I couldn't find any top notch monitors beside the T220 and this one, so If you got a good 24" recommendation, let me hear it.

Some comments:

1. You didn't fill out the sticky so it's hard to say if this system fits your needs or not as we don't know them. It's certainly a high end build and should handle most tasks with ease but it may be costing you more than you need to spend. From the looks I'd guess a gaming system and for most gamers a quad core is overkill as almost no games take advantage of the extra cores. A fast, cheap, and easily overclocked dual core chip is the optimal choice right now.

2. If you're intending to wait on the 4870 release why are you going to purchase the parts now? Unless you're getting a killer deal somehow on one or more of these parts there's no harm in waiting to see how the prices fall when the 4870 actually hits. Ordering all your parts at once and from the same seller at once also saves you money when it comes to shipping costs.

3. Are you sure you really need that x48 MB? Very steep price for a board that you may not need. If you're sure you do, fine, but there are plenty of good boards with the P35 and a few P45 boards that are less than half of that price.

4. For a 24" monitor, I picked up a great Soyo for just under $300 a few months ago from Office Max. They also have a 26" version for ~ $375, but I have no idea on the quality of that model. I love my 24" panel however, great quality and handles all games with ease. Also it's freaking huge coming from a comparatively small 20" Dell panel. There's a fairly long thread over in Hot Deals that talks about it HERE.
