Pick me a new hardrive or hardrives

Hello
These are my system specs
Motherboard: DFI lanparty ut SLI-DR
Cpu: AMD 3000+ overclocked to 2.6ghz
Video: 7800GT overclocked to 540/1250
Hardrive: western digital 200gb sata150
powesupply OCZ powerstream 520watt

that should do for now, if you want more specifics just ask. The problem I have been having is lock ups. This is what has happened in order of first to last. I was trying to network with my brothers computer and after rebooting several times and trying the windows wizard. It kept promting for me to check one of the firewall boxes. I took off my nvidia firewall and rebooted to find the bsod. I then entered the bios thinking it was an overclocking issue set everything to stock again. Still bsod, I entered safe mode removed video drivers to remove the overclock on the video card. While in safe mode I ran a virus scanner which came out fine. I then ran a webroot scan which locked. I rebooted into regular windows and was fine untill I tried the webroot scan again. It locked. Then when rebooting again It locked just in windows. I formatted and started windows installation and it locked again. I am 90% sure my hardrive has met it's match it is about 3 years old I think.

I was wondering what a good hardrive is or if raid would be a good choice.

Thank you for all of your help.

riad is not a good chice for reliability.

A samsung or seagate would suit you fine. Segate have better warranties but samsungs are incredibly quiet for about the same performance.

I thought that one of the raids was great for reliability. The one that mirrors your hardrive. That way you always have a backup.

It is great for reliability if you're doing mirroring or RAID-5. RAID-5 is great but requires more drives and there's overhead associated with it. The one he's talking about is probably striping over 2 disks where if you lose one, the data is gone.

I would do a memory test first. I've had 2 memory simms die in the past couple of years. Look for a free test utility, or download the free "Ultimate Boot CD" which has many different diagnostics and repair utilities on it. If a memory unit is bad, you may be able to get a free replacement from the manufacturer.

The DFI board has memtest on it and I ran a little of test five on it, but not much. Do you think I should run the whole thing, it is a VERY long test.

Have you checked your drive's SMART status?

I haven't checked that; I wouldn't know how to. What is it or what does it do, sorry I am a noob when it comes to setting up hardrives, they have all worked great for me so I haven't had to mess with much.

EDIT: I just checked the bios and HDD SMART is disabled does that have anything to do with it?

Update: Ok the system locks even when doing memtest86 after about 20min. The memory did fine 9 passes without errors untill it locked. I am not sure if it is hardrive now because I would think the hardrive wouldn't be doing anything with memtest86 but I could be completely wrong about that as I haven't messed with hardrives much. A friend of mine seams to think it might be my motherboard, but if that was the case then I don't think it would post. Any help is greatly appreciated.
