So many motherboards, not too much knowledge.... :)

I am narrowing it down with these capabilities. So P35 chip is what I need?

1333FSB for Intel E6750
DDR 3 capability for future
Good sound card --> better to buy separate?
Good LAN -->better to buy separate?

BIOS that allows me to start the computer with my keyboard

I was thinking about $200 range.

Thank you.

The Gigabyte P35C for $160 is a very nice choice for a good priced combo (ddr2/ddr3) board. Its an excellent performing quality board with the options you're looking for (except I can't verify it can boot from a keyboard.)

What memory are you going to be using?

/edit: forum discussion of p35c

? Yes, P35 is the right chipset for you. However DDR3 + P35 has no bright future according to the recent article X-bit labs ? DDR3 SDRAM: Revolution or Evolution? (July 9, 2007) because P35 supports up to DDR3-1333 and the performance of DDR3-1333 is at most the same as DDR2-1066. You'd better stick with DDR2.

? Which one do you use, digital or analog out? If you use SPDIF, then onboard audio is enough. If you use analog, then a sound card is usually better than onboard audio codec (I mean better DAC and PREAMP).

? Every P35 chipset motherboard comes with Gb LAN, so you don't need a separate card.

Some good P35 motherboards at around $200 are

? abit IP35 Pro/IP35 (vanilla)
? GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6/DS3P

The GIGABYTE board's audio codec is very good (SNR 106dB).
