I'd go for the asus p5rd1 (reviewed at driver heaven) or p5LD2 (reviewed at t-break). The rd1 has ddr and agp support if you want to use any of your old components. The LD2 has pci-e and ddr2 support, and may perform better. Don't know if either supports core2 duo, but you can check asus website for cpu support.

Hi, I didn't want to thread crap, but I can't seem to create my own thread(all the buttons on top don't seem to work, doh) and anyway, I'm looking for a mobo too, so here I am.

Anyway, I'm helping a friend build a C2D E6300 system, and I'm quite out of touch with motherboards now. He's on a budget so I know the 975 is out. I'm not sure of the nvidia 680 so right now the choices are all 965 boards, including the following:
Asus P5B basic
Gigabyte 965P-S3
MSI P965 Neo-F

The prices are similar enough that they don't matter. The rest of the system is something like this
C2D E6300, 1-2GB DDR2-667 memory, X1950Pro

He won't be doing much, if any overclocking. I'm assuming performance is pretty much identical among boards, and features wise, any of these boards should be sufficient, so I guess it boils down to stability and overall quality of the board. Which one's better?

Also, there isn't much difference going for 667 or 800 memory right? I'm assuming 667 is standard for the FSB? Actually I'm not that sure, been out of the loop for a while now.
