Why is the Mazda even on this list?

If it wasn't for the sucess of the Miata, you wouldn't have the Z3, SLK, Boxster or S2000.

The '90 Miata was a breakthrough in the auto industry....DUH!!😛

i picked up a fully loaded ex. condition 2001 boxster S for 36.5, you can find a 2000 around 30-31.. consider it 🙂

Mmmmmmmm, Boxster S 😛

I'd take the z now, if honda ever comes out with anything near that s2000 type r hoax, I would grab that in a heart beat.

You have to see a Honda S2000 in action. They are exceedingly fast. Plus, the leg room matches a lincoln towncar.

s2000 if you have the money, miata if you want to save some money. both very fun cars. i've never seen a comparison where the s2000 didn't come out on top of the z.

Viper GTS

Why not?

Miata:

Length = 155.3
Width = 66
Height = 48.4
Weight = 2387

S2000

Length = 162.2
Width = 68.9
Height = 50.6
Weight = 2809

350Z

Length = 169.4
Width = 71.5
Height = 52.3
Weight = 3462

See anything unusual? The Z outweighs the Miata by nearly 44%, & is overall a much bigger vehicle.

Viper GTS

May outweight them, but all major auto magazines are classifying them the same.

How many comparisons of the S2000 and Z Roadster have there been? 1? 😕

The Z coupe beat the S2000 w/ hard top attached in this comparo

Damn, Lotus Elise is coming to the US? 4/04? hmm... that means I've got 6 months to save $34k...... 😀

The Miata and 350Z convertible are no-where near to being in the same class. Not even close.

The Miata's closest competitor is the MR2 Spyder and the now defunct 4-cylinder version of the Z3 Roadster

u gotta go test drive the cars yourself... and it also depends on what you are gonna do with the car. i test drove an s2000, i though the interior was very nice, ride was hella fun (you cant beat 8k rpms), and handling was badass, took a turn at 50mph and the s2000 just asked for more. ive also sat in a 350z, and it feels cramped and the interior feels very cheap, but it does look good and its fast.

Maybe you hate Car&Drive b/c they're French, or b/c Saddam Hussein owns 90% of their stock.
