I have my OC'd play machine (A7N8X Deluxe, 2500+, ti4400, 1 GB dual channel, blah, blah,...blah) my kid's gamer (A7N8X, 2200+, ti4200, 1 GB dual channel, etc. etc.) and now my wife wants hers upgraded (DFI K6BV3+ /66, K6-2 /500 oc'd 550, PCI ATI Radeon 7000 32mb SDR, 128mb PC100)

Now I think the K6BV3+ is an awesome board, but I'll admit it's a bit dated. She doesn't need a high end machine at all, no games or anything taxing, just a program or two and the internet. So I'm thinking I'll go the integrated route (onboard vga, lan, and audio)
I'm really leaning toward the ABIT NF7-M, also looking at MSI K7N2G-L, ASUS A7N8X-VM, EPOX EP-8RGA, or Shuttle MN31N. Or perhaps even a sub $50 board MSI KM2M-L, or ASUS AM266-VM though I dunno if it would be worth it for the gForce2 graphics.

What I already have is (in addition to hers) a pretty good Raidmax case, 360W PS, stick 512mb DDR333, AMD 2100+, CD-ROM, and a FDD.

Any opinions out there? Anyone running a similar set up? Better idea? Or should I just spent a couple hundred more $$$ and get a vid card and mobo w/o vga?
Opinions most welcome!!! or is that Most opinions welcome!!! ;-)

i think you can get either integrated video OR sound with nforce2. i would get the NF7-s as it is a GREAT mobo and the soundstorm kicks @$$ and drop in a geforce 4 MX or a radeon 9000

All those I listed have on board lan, vga, and sound. Some even have Sound Storm and gForce4 MX, or some combo of gForce2, Savage video, Sound Storm, gForce4 etc.
Looking at the ABIT with nForce2 chip set, gForce4 video, 10/100 lan, and 6 channel audio all for $106,.... well it looks like it would be hard to beat.
I was hoping for some comments from others who have tried this budget route. Wondered if it is pretty well problem free and reliable. Remember this is just for my wife to be able to get on the internet and balance her checkbook and stuff.
