Either the pathfinder or 4 runner. If you're going to get get a used SUV, you might as well get a REAL SUV, and that means truck based.

Depends on the prices - I don't know those values offhand. I would probably go for the Honda if you are not doing any off-road, and the Toyota if you are.

kinda hard to pick out of those 4, the 4runner and pathfinder are in a diff. class than the escape and CRV....

i'd go for the 4runner, i've always liked them....but they can be a bit pricey.

Either the pathfinder or the Escape. I'm a Nissan Fanboy, so I picked the Pathfinder naturally. I like the ascape because it's a very safe SUV, and will probably have some of the factory warranty left on it. Not to mention they look nice :p

4runner. I love those. They are known for their offroading prowess among mid size SUVs. I mean look at the ground clearance then look at the ground clearance on a Pathfinder or Exploder.

I'm a Honda fan, so the CR-V would naturally get a close look from me.

I wouldn't look at that year Pathfinder. The 3.3L V-6 has weak acceleration, and gets pretty poor fuel economy for a compact SUV. It'd have to be the new 3.5L, or no Pathfinder at all.

Toyota? Hmmm. They don't exactly do it for me, plus it's old. I had a bad experience at a Toyota dealership, so I won't return to them, or any other dealerships owned by Rudy Luther.

But are they all about the same price? Then I'd probably give the Ford Escape a whirl, because it's significantly newer than the others.

Of course, it depends on the individual vehicle.

How about the Toyota Land Cruiser? I don't know how it falls in the price range (since we don't get it in Canada), but I do have experience with hte Landcruiser in Africa, and its one awesome + capable + reliable machine!

if you want to offroad how about a jeep?? Wrangler would kill all of those

Otherwise I think Pathfinders are pretty cool

Ford Escape, it comes from Ford, the very people who brought you the automobile in the first place, how bad can it be?

;)

97' 4Runner

Just looked at the 98' my dad wanted to get.

Reason for my choice: Toyota's are great, reliable cars unlike the Fords listed (Nissan is owned by Ford FYI). Honda is also a great company but I don't like the CR-V.
