I think you guys got it all wrong. They bound the feet so other parts of the body could grow, it's a side effect that's brainwashed into the populace to think otherwise (status symbol, etc...)

I'm surprised not a lot of people know about this. It's an old practice in China where it was viewed as a status symbol or some sort of sexual fetishism that's akin to how the world views tall, thin women models, or how America viewed fat women in the 20's.

It was a status symbol, since if you had bound feet you obviously couldn't work that much (or atleast you werent suppose to). It's similar to being really fair or plump back in the medieval ages, shows you were rich enough to not have to work. Definitely a cruel practice that im glad is over.
