*PIC* Concept Ford Bronco!

Analog

Lifer
Can an SUV carry too much baggage?

Perhaps, if it?s called Bronco.

Despite the potentially negative imagery associated with it ? rollover lawsuits, O.J. Simpson?s televised flight from police ? Ford Motor Co. is reviving the Bronco name with a rugged SUV concept based on a vehicle it builds and sells in South America.

?It?s a good name,? said Phil Martens, group vice president for North America product creation at Ford.

eh...I actually like the looks but in that way where I probably wouldn't actually buy one or be caught dead in it =p

But it looks kinda like some weird ford rendition of a Hummer that's been sleeked down.

I was pretty certain that the Bronco was pretty much replaced by the Explorer no? I guess Ford figures they can't EVER have enough SUVs... =(
That's just what the US needs, more huge gas hog SUVs!
Explorer, Expedition, Excursion, Escape, Mercury Mountaineer, Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Aviator. And of course, we need a Bronco.
Pretty soon they can just become an SUV company instead of a car company.

Hahah.. I actually like the way it looks.. but yes, sort of like an H2 crossed with the old Broncos. The engine specs they listed were a little idiotic, though.

It *looks* like the top should be removable.. that's what would make it cool. The wrangler isn't going to be a wrangler much longer, so we need some replacement convertible suvs...

I may be a little biased, as I drive a 1972 Bronco, but I like it. There needs to be another short whelbase 4x4 to compete with the wrangler. The only thing that is bad about a new bronco is that it will have weak IFS, unless it comes from the new F-150. I hope they produce it.

"Featuring a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine equipped with a nitrous-oxide injection system to boost horsepower"

WTF?

Ricer Rollovers, tonight at 6!

It looks cool !

btw, it looks like an old school Bronco, not a Hummer, if you want to think that you should say a Hummer looks like an old school Bronco, not the other way around.

Hummers predate broncos.

wasn't the old Bronco a larger 4x4?? and the broncoII's were replaced by the explorer or that's the way i remember it anyway.

the 80's bronco's were like slightly shorter versions of the Expedition.

AMC has been making jeeps/hummers since before the second world war.
The current hummer we see today was created in 1979.

i believe by hummer MOST people were referring to the HumVee made by GM which has been around since 1992.

the Jeep, most people correlate with the Jeep CJ which we've seen around since WWII.

A Hummer and a Jeep are not the same vehicle. The Bronco dates to 1968, that's eleven years before 1979.
