This guy's act has been bothering me because I can't seem to figure out whether it is real or fake.
Here is the act: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoULhtF_jps
I don't know anything about pianos or juggling which is why I am hoping I can get some good theories from you all.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

meh.. he's got that piano setup so it's in a particular KEY, so that no matter what note he hits it's going to sound somewhat alright.

At a little after 1:30, he plays two notes which are the same, but the two balls clearly hit different notes.

He's got it setup to only play in a certain key. Any note that would fall out of key is probably shifted up a half step to a pitch that's in key.

I don't give a crap how it's setup, but I'm just showing how it's faked and he is not hitting the proper note. If you can just hit whatever note you want and your keyboard is setup to automatically adjust and play the right one, well that's called faking it.

I was expecting the Juggling of pianos, not bouncing balls. That ain't juggling.

I saw him live when I went to vegas on a tour.

He was in The Variety Show or something like that.

Based on all of ur input, it seems that the guy must be faking it. It just puzzles me how he is able to fake it, lol. I still don't completely understand. So is it just a trick with technology and programming the piano???

It's probably programmed to play the correct note whenever anything touches it, no matter where it touches it.

I also saw him at the Variety Show. It's real. His mistakes were perfectly audible.
I was almost completely convinced that it was fake until I saw ur comment. Sooo..... since u actually saw him live I would assume that ur opinion would have more credibility. So I guess this means that the guy's act is real? Wow, if that is true then my mind is blown. I still can't understand how a person can do that, it is crazy!

It is kind of both. From what I understand, him and some other guy are using a special key board that plays a specific note when any key is pressed. So his ball bouncing technically is causing the notes to play, he can toss them wherever and the right notes will play.

So he is a great juggler, but not really playing the music.

Ohhh okay. Thanks, your explanation was very helpful. So i suppose it was just a combination of talent and a little bit of cheating.
